Correcting Others with Gentleness

Galatians 6:1 instructs us to restore our brethren who've been overtaken by sin with a spirit of gentleness. However, it seems a lot of Christian critique tend to come from a place of resentment and pride. In this episode, we all need to look inwardly and ask ourselves the question: When we are correcting our brothers and sisters in the Lord, are we doing so with the intent to restore them or shame them?

Lord, Break My Cycle of Sin

Sinful habits die hard. Sometimes we are tempted to lose hope for our deliverance, but we must hang on, and understand the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells inside of us. You cannot save yourself from sin, but I know someone who can rescue you.

Homosexuality + Overcoming False Teachers

In 2023, there are too many false teachers and doctrines to keep track of. Nowadays it's not enough that someone disagrees with the Bible, but people even go as far to misconstrue its contents to justify their world views. Today we set a few things straight. Additionally, I want to talk about homosexuality and homophobia. It's a past due conversation on this podcast. This is a huge topic in our generation, so I pray you're able to listen with an open heart and ears. Let's open the Bible and get to work.

When I’m Weak, I’m Strong.

What are the first words that come to mind when you think about King David in the Bible? Are they strong, leader, brave? That might be the idea we get from 1 & 2 Samuel, but what about Psalm 7, 13 or 18 when he's crying and praying for deliverance? How can someone so strong, be so dependent at the same time?

His Gifts, His Glory

God created us to bear His image, not build up our own. To do this, He's given us gifts and blessings all meant to glorify His name. However, all too often, instead of seeing these gifts as a points of gratitude, we use them as points of pride. Let's unpack.

Happy 4 You (Not Really)

Our pride has a way of turning other people's testimonies into our reasons to envy them. I think we all want to be happy for other people when good things happen to them. However, in those times, it's really hard to not think "God, when it is my turn?" or "God, what about me?" Let's talk.

A Warning Against Impatience

We all have visions of where we think we "should be" in life. However, it's important to remember that saying yes to God's plan is saying yes to His timeline as well. Oftentimes when we feel like we aren't making progress as fast as we feel we should, we grow impatient and frustrated. I pray this episode helps relieve the tension impatience creates in your life.

Overcoming Pride

"I was more addicted to pride than I ever was sexual sin." 
I pray this episode really makes you sit and wrestle with the pride that might be running free in your life. On another note, thank you all for your patience and support. God is so good, and I'm excited to continue to teach and grow together.

My biGgESt FeAr

God's been working on me, and He continues to. I am not perfect, and God isn't shy to let me know that. In this episode, I open up about the sin currently in my life and how God is working in me. I'll also touch on the proper way to perceive His chastisement. This is the last episode I'll record for a while, as I'll be taking a break from Churchboy Confessions for a season.
